MEET The founder

Hi there,

I’m Kimberly Hall, Chief Sole Inspirer, and it’s a pleasure to meet you!

Welcome to Sole Inspired, the greeting card company that was born in the “fire of adversity” . . . and I’m pretty sure that’s our connection. Yes, I know it is!

We share an indomitable spirit to beat the odds, never give up, take whatever life throws our way, and push through the pain ‘til we break through to our true potential. That’s who we are.  It’s what we do.

We’ve stared fear in the face and declared “You will not define me!"

We pound the pavement day in, day out—because we’ve found our courage and we will not be shaken!

We are victorious.

But it wasn’t always that way, at least not for me. There was a time when I thought I was broken beyond repair.

Everything Fell Apart
My world shattered the day I lost the love of my life. If I’m honest, there’s an ache in my heart that never goes away. I still miss my husband — my fallen hero. He was the rock beneath my feet, and there wasn’t a scared bone in his body. He loved adventure! In fact, he left this earth doing what he loved—flying.

If I Weren't Afraid
But me, I didn’t know what I was truly passionate about. He used to ask me, “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?" Well, I never got around to answering that question. And then, in the blink of an eye he was gone. I was alone, a thirty-two-year-old widow—just me and my son and that lingering question, "What would you do if you weren’t afraid?"

Ink, Paper, Photos
I didn’t think I’d ever be happy again. All I knew was that I wanted to hold on to every memory that I could. So, in the lonely months that followed, I found solace in the creative hours I spent alone. Working with paper and old photos, pens and journals, I reminisced over the life we had lived. I fell in love with the healing power of old photos glued to a page and words inked on the paper. Not on a screen, but held between my two hands.

Boldly, Bravely, Beautifully
Slowly, a desire began to grow like a spark . . . then a flame . . . then a blaze. Tragedy would not define me! Fear would not hold me back. I would live a bold, brave, beautiful story. And, I would run the race that was set before me with passion. And that’s what I did—literally! I took up running. Running became my place of solace and reflection. What began as a few miles a week has become some fifty-plus full and half marathons.

Paper and Running Collide
Then somewhere between the inking my soul on paper and the pounding my soles on the pavement, my love of paper and running collided. And that’s when the vision for Sole Inspired was born — a greeting card company for inspiring, encouraging and empowering others to get up and go, to live a life without regrets, to never back down and never give up. And all I know is people need encouragement when life has knocked them down, when the bottom’s fallen out and all hope is gone...the power of a written word of encouragement held in the hands of weary soul can be the difference between defeat or deliverance.

Pivoting with Purpose
In 2021, after undergoing knee surgery for a torn medial meniscus and battling arthritis, I had to make a tough decision. Running had been my refuge, but my body needed something different. That’s when I pivoted—not just in my own movement journey but in the vision for Sole Inspired. I realized that movement goes beyond just running; it’s about staying active, pushing forward, and celebrating all forms of motion, no matter the pace. Now, Sole Inspired creates cards that embrace all kinds of movement, reminding us that life’s journey continues, even when it takes a different path.

Bringing Snail Mail Back
Yes, we’re bringing snail mail back in a big way! Because people deserve every bit of encouragement we can give. Let’s be honest: while social media posts quickly fade away and emails get deleted, it’s the hand-written card that remains—a tangible reminder sitting on a desk, a mantle, or a bedside table for days, even weeks. And why does it matter? Because that card carries a message. It tells someone they’re worth fighting for, that they’ve done an amazing job, that they matter, and that their life makes a difference.

So, come on! Let’s start a written revolution of inspiration, encouragement, and empowerment.
